Prof.Sanjeev Kumar

Sanjeev Kumar is Professor of Political Science at Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi. He holds a M.Phil. and Ph. D in Political Science from University of Delhi. His major interests are in the areas of Social and Political theory , Global Political thought ,Citizenship and Rights, Vulnerability and Disaster, Gandhian Studies, with more than two decades of research and teaching experience in these areas.
Prof. Kumar has many publications to his credit, including books, book chapters, journal articles, newspaper columns and translations. His most recent work includes ‘critically acclaimed ‘Gandhi and the Contemporary World’ edited) published by Routledge: London in 2020 and other two major edited books in ‘Political Theory’ have been published by Orient Blackswan in 2019 and Sage in 2021 respectively. His research articles have been published in journals, such as Economic and Political Weekly, APA Studies, Gandhi Marg Quarterly, India Quarterly.
He has been a Research fellow at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, (CSDS), and Fellow at the Developing Countries Research Centre (DCRC), University of Delhi. Currently he also holds a position of an Honorary Senior Fellow at the Centre for Ethics, Politics and global Affairs, New Delhi.
 Prof. Kumar has been honored with the prestigious Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching & Learning by Respect India and Hansraj College, University of Delhi in the year 2021. Gandhi Bhavan at the University of Delhi conferred an Award of Excellence for distinct contribution to the spread of ‘Gandhi philosophy' in the colleges of Delhi University in 2020.

Summary Report of IFPNP and list of Eligible Fellows

  International Online Fellowship Program on Nonviolence & Peace Oct 02, 2023 to Jan30, 2024                                                                          Summary Report   International Fellowship Program on Nonviolence and Peace –II   (IFPNP -II) was organized by Sevagram  Ashram Pratishthan in association with Gandhi International, Academic University College for Nonviolence and     Human Rights and MGM University. This four months fellowship program (Oct. 02, 2023–January 30,2024) was offered online and using English medium to support the international participants. In addition participants were given an opportunity to participate in a Colloquium on Peace and related themes held in  January 2024 in India . The response to the announcement of the program was overwhelming. More than 60 applications from thirteen countries were given admission.   Inauguration : It was inaugurated on Oct. 02, 2023 by  Prof. Ramin Jahanbegloo Vice Dean and Executive Director, Mahatma Gand
